Book

"Not Without a Fight" is my story.  I have been writing it for the last five years and it hasn't been easy, but finally it is complete.  It is in rough draft and in the process of being edited into final format.  It is 80,000 words and 40 exciting chapters, which represent different significant times in my life, from childhood to the present.

Once it has been published I will let you know so you can get your copy!  I may have separate chapters available for preview on the website soon.

A little about me:

I was born September 24, 1964 in Washington, D.C.   I had an above-average childhood, however, at age fifteen, my best friend's mom turned me on to drugs and everything changed.  I suffered through drug and alcohol addiction and at age twenty-one married a man twelve years my senior who enabled my addiction and dealt with marital problems with physical and emotional abuse.  I was in the throws of  untreated bipolar disorder and my life was a mess.  The mayhem lasted until age thirty, when I left the man, stopped drinking and taking drugs and started changing my life.

I found boxing at age thirty-two, sort of by accident, and loved its intensity.  I was an intense person, and after becoming sober, had found that I was also quite an athlete.  I thought all of my demons had been beat, until I was diagnosed with Chronic Hepatitis C.  This was one tough opponent that I needed to KO even before stepping into the ring.C.  I beat it after enduring a year of grueling treatments with side-effects similar to chemotherapy.
